Autopsy concludes cause of woman's death non-suspicious

Lethbridge Police continue to investigate the sudden death of a 61-year-old woman however an autopsy has concluded the woman’s death is non-suspicious.

On January 29, 2017 at approximately 9:45 a.m. police and EMS responded to a report of an unresponsive woman who was found by a passerby in the parking lot of an apartment complex along Berkeley Place West. The woman, who was pronounced deceased at the scene, was identified as Elizabeth Betty Beaulieu.

Due to the circumstances, including the location of the body outdoors and no obvious cause of death, Beaulieu’s death was initially considered suspicious.

An autopsy, completed January 31 at the Medical Examiner’s Office in Calgary, determined there was no evidence to suggest foul play.

Toxicology results are still pending and the police investigation will remain open until they are received.
