Lethbridge Police have charged the driver of a school bus in connection with an injury collision Wednesday afternoon.
On Feb. 3, 2016 at approximately 3:16 p.m. a City of Lethbridge school bus with children on board was travelling northbound along 23 Street North when the driver swerved to avoid a collision with a vehicle in front that had been stopped in the 1800 block and was waiting to make a left-hand turn. The bus crossed the centre line and entered the southbound lane subsequently colliding head-on with an SUV.
The 67-year-old driver of the SUV was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
None of the children on the bus, or the bus driver, were injured.
Ken Kissick, 64, of Lethbridge, is charged under the Traffic Safety Act, Use of Highway and Rules of the Road Regulation, with driving left of the centre line. The penalty for the violation is $233.
