Car prowlers arrested by Crime Suppression Team

The first shift for the LPS Crime Suppression Team was bitterly cold, but officers arrested two car prowlers and returned a stolen jacket to its rightful owner.

On Jan. 15, 2020 just after 10 p.m. members of the CST observed two people trying car door handles in the area of St. Catherine’s Road North. A male and female were subsequently arrested for tampering with a motor vehicle and upon a search incidental to arrest police recovered a new winter jacket, a pair of sunglasses, two gift cards, a small distinctive change purse and lottery tickets. The male took police back to the vehicle where the jacket had been stolen and it was returned to its rightful owner. Police have not yet identified the owner of the sunglasses and other property.

The property was stolen from vehicles in the Stafford Drive area, from 9 Avenue to St. Edwards Boulevard and 6 Street to 13 Street North. Anyone missing these items is asked to email propertyrecovery@lethbridgepolice.ca to begin the claim process.

Brandon Lee Brave Rock, 26, of Lethbridge, is charged with possession of stolen property under $5,000 and tamper with a motor vehicle.

Rolanda Crying Head, 28, of Lethbridge, is charged with tamper with a motor vehicle.

Police remind residents to always ensure valuables are removed from their vehicles and the doors are locked.
