Charges pending in connection with early morning assault

Lethbridge police have arrested a male and female in connection with the assault of a 23-year-old man earlier today.

On January 5, 2018 at approximately 6:30 a.m. police responded to a report that a male had been assaulted at a home along the 1000 block of 27 A Street North. The 23-year-old victim was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, including multiple stab wounds.  A male suspect and female suspect fled the home prior to police arrival, but were located later in the morning at a residence along the 600 block of Stafford Drive North. Both were arrested without incident and the female was treated by EMS for a laceration on her hand. The victim remains in hospital at this time.

This incident is a domestic assault and the investigation is ongoing to further interview the parties involved and determine the circumstances.

Charges are pending against a 21-year-old woman and  24-year-old man.
