A city man is facing more than two dozen charges following an incident Friday night where a firearm was pointed at a man and police subsequently seized numerous guns and prohibited weapons from a northside home.
On April 15, 2016 at 6:20 p.m. police responded to a home along the 200 block of 15 Street North following a threats and firearms complaint. A 46-year-old male was taken into custody without incident for uttering threats and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public. The home was subsequently checked by police for public safety and while doing so, officers located numerous weapons, ammunition and suspected explosive devices. The Explosive Disposal Unit and the Department of National Defence were subsequently contacted and a warrant was granted to search and seize the weapons, ammunition and devices. In addition, police also seized a small quantity of drugs.
Patrick Harvey Rossetti, 46, is facing more than two dozen Criminal Code charges including uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, multiple counts of possession of a prohibited/restricted weapon and careless use/storage of a firearm, as well as possession of a controlled substance. He is scheduled to appear in court April 18.
Investigation in the matter is ongoing and members of the National Weapons Enforcement Support Team and the Department of National Defence are examining and testing the seized items, which is anticipated to take some time.
