Police charge 51-year-old man in connection with incest, sexual assault

 Lethbridge Regional Police have charged a 51-year-old Lethbridge man in connection with the sexual assault of his nine-year-old daughter and her nine-year-old and seven-year-old female friends.

 An investigation by members of the Criminal Investigation Section determined the man sexually assaulted his nine-year-old daughter on multiple occasions between June 2012 and January 2014 as well as two of her friends – a seven-year-old girl and nine-year-old girl – during the summer of 2013.

 The man was arrested Jan. 22 without incident and is remanded in custody.

Police continue to investigate after injured male found in alley

 Lethbridge Regional Police continue to investigate after an injured male was found by a passerby in an alley along the 100 block of 15 Street North Tuesday morning.

 At approximately 10:45 a.m. a citizen alerted police to an injured male who was lying in the alley. EMS subsequently attended and transported the male, who has since been identified as a 47-year-old Standoff man, to hospital for treatment of a head injury.

The 47-year-old man currently remains in hospital in stable condition, but has not yet been able to speak to police.

Lethbridge Regional Police warning the public about High Risk Offender

 The Lethbridge Regional Police Service has been advised by RCMP that a recently released High Risk Offender is currently residing in Lethbridge.

 Keegan Spear Chief, 28, was released from Grand Cache Institution on Jan. 17 after serving a two-year, 10-month sentence for assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, assault, voyeurism, fail to comply with a probation order and fail to comply with a recognizance.

Police investigating report of injured male

Lethbridge Regional Police are investigating a report of an injured male who was  found earlier today in an alley along the 100 block of 15 Street North.

 The male has been transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.  

 Investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances of the man’s injuries.

 No further information is available to release at this time.

Body identified as missing man

Lethbridge Regional Police are investigating a sudden death after a body was found in a snow covered area near the 200 block of Scenic Drive South earlier today.

The body has been identified as a 60-year-old male who was previously reported missing.

The Criminal Investigation Section continues to investigate but at this time there is no evidence to suggest foul play.

As the incident does not appear to be criminal in nature no further information will be released.
