Driver charged in serious injury collision with motorcyclist

Lethbridge Regional Police have charged a 58-year-old man with dangerous driving following a collision with a motorcycle.

On June 21, 2014 at approximately 12:26 a.m. police and EMS responded to a report of a collision at the intersection of 13 Street and 12 Avenue South. Investigation determined that a motorcycle, operated by a 35-year-old Cardston man, was southbound on 13 Street when it was struck by a taxi cab that had been travelling northbound and attempted to turn westbound onto 12 Avenue South. The 35-year-old motorcyclist was transported to Chinook Regional Hospital then transferred to Calgary Foothills Hospital. He remains in serious, but stable condition.

Estifanos Abraha Ogbagebriel, 58, is charged with dangerous driving causing bodily harm. He is scheduled to appear in court June 25.
