On August 17, 2014 at approximately 8 p.m., members of the Lethbridge Regional Police Service cordoned off the 2500 block of 13 Street North in the interest of public safety. Four subjects whom were arrestable for multiple criminal offences, were believed to also be in possession of a firearm. The individuals had been placed inside a residence in the same area which led police to block off access to the neighborhood. The four individuals eventually gave themselves up to police and were taken into custody without incident. Once the residence was cleared and found to be safe the area cordon was lifted allowing residents access to the area. The four subjects are currently in custody pending the investigation. A firearm was recovered during the incident. Members of the LRPS thanks the public for their patience and cooperation.
