Four people remain in custody following Sunday night arrests, investigation ongoing

Lethbridge Regional Police currently have three males and one female in custody following their arrest at a northside home Sunday night.

On Aug. 17, 2014 at approximately 8 p.m. members of the Patrol Operations Division cordoned off the 2500 block of 13 Street North after a suspicious vehicle was located parked at a residence. Further investigation determined that four subjects, wanted in connection with several recent crimes, were believed to be inside the property and may be in possession of a firearm. The cordon was a precautionary measure in the interest of public safety.

Approximately three hours later all four subjects surrendered to police and were arrested without incident. Police also seized a firearm. At that time the cordon was removed and normal access to the area resumed.

Police thank all members of the public who were impacted by the cordon for their cooperation, patience and understanding.

Investigation in this matter is ongoing. The four subjects remain in police custody and charges are pending.

No further information will be released at this time and no further updates are expected today.
