Has your bike been stolen? We may have it

Lethbridge Police currently have more than 150 bikes that have been recovered throughout the city and are encouraging anyone who has had their bike stolen within the last year to attend the station to take a look.

Recovered bikes are located in the police bike compound on the west side of the building. If you recognize your bike, please attend the front counter for further assistance. Proof of ownership will be required in order to claim a bike.

In addition, a number of bikes have been sent to Harry Lenz Auction and will be up for sale in the near future. Auctions are held every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. and the available lots are advertised on the company’s website www.lenzauction.com

In partnership with ShawTV, Cst. Kara Hagen, our Community Liaison Officer, interviewed Cst. Ryan Darroch, a member of our Downtown Policing Unit, about what people can do to help safeguard their bike from theft and what to do if their bike is stolen. Check out the video for a few tips and find out why recording your bike’s serial number is so important!
