Lethbridge man charged with aggravated assault, dangerous driving

 Lethbridge Regional Police have charged a 50-year-old man in connection with a recent incident where a male was struck by a vehicle at a local campsite.

 On Aug. 7, 2014 at approximately 7:05 p.m. police responded to a report that a 50-year-old male camping in Bridgeview Campground had been struck by a vehicle. EMS transported the male to hospital with serious injuries. Investigation determined that the male had been sitting in a chair in his campsite when he was struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle and victim are known to one another.

 On Aug. 13 the subject attended the police station and was arrested without incident. The victim remains in hospital in serious, but stable condition.

 Vincent William Boutcher, 50, of Lethbridge, is charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, dangerous driving causing bodily harm and criminal negligence causing bodily harm.

 Boutcher was released from custody on a recognizance with several conditions including no contact with the victim and a prohibition from attending Bridgeview Campground. He is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 28.
