Lethbridge Regional Police have charged a 22-year-old man with sexual assault following a recent incident involving inappropriate touching.
On July 29, 2014 at approximately 8:15 a.m. a 30-year-old woman was walking along 5 Avenue and 11 Street South when she was approached by an unknown male who asked for the time. The woman provided the time and the male asked to see her fingernails then touched her inappropriately. The victim left the area without further incident and reported the matter to police.
Following investigation the subject was identified and later located.
Police advise the public to always be aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious activity immediately. Anyone else who may have been approached in this manner is asked to contact police 403-328-4444.
Sheldon Wayne Wilson, 22, is charged with one count of sexual assault and two counts of breach of an undertaking. Wilson was released from custody with several conditions, including a prohibition from attending within the boundaries of 11 Street South to 8 Street South and 6 Avenue South to 3 Avenue South except for the purpose of legal business or activities within that area and a prohibition from having contact with any person for the purpose of discussing onychophilia.
Wilson is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 15.
