Lethbridge man charged with weapons offences

Lethbridge Police have charged a 37-year-old man in connection with a weapons complaint Wednesday afternoon.

On July 5, 2017 at approximately 4 p.m. two ATCO Gas employees were moving a gas meter in the utility room of a four-plex along the 1000 block of 27A Street North when they were confronted by a male who appeared intoxicated and was behaving oddly. The male was holding a handgun in a holster and was waving the firearm in front of their faces. The employees feared for their safety, left the complex and called police.

Police attended and while on scene the subject exited the four-plex and was arrested without incident. His residence was subsequenly searched and several weapons and ammunition were located in an insecure and unsafe manner.

James Cameron Forbes, 37, is charged with two counts of Uttering Threats, Careless Use of a Firearm, Careless Storage of a Firearm, Pointing a Firearm, Possession of a Weapon Dangerous, and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of an Offence.
