Lethbridge man facing property crime, disqualified driving charges

Lethbridge Police have charged a 30-year-old man with numerous property crimes and additional charges from RCMP jurisdictions are also pending.

On January 25, 2018 just after 2:30 p.m. police responded to a report that a wanted subject was currently at a bank along the 700 block of 4 Avenue South. Upon police arrival the subject became belligerent and combative with police and following a brief altercation with officers he was taken into custody. The male was found to be in possession of keys belonging to a stolen truck with a stolen license plate that was parked outside. A female passenger in the vehicle was initially arrested but later released without charges.

Following further investigation, the male was charged with additional offences in relation to possession of several stolen vehicles (all stolen over the past two months), stolen license plates and a car prowling incident Jan. 22 where the male was in possession of a knife when the homeowner confronted him inside the vehicle. Charges of failing to stop for police in Lethbridge and other rural jurisdictions are also pending along with property crime charges stemming from incidents in Picture Butte and Coaldale that RCMP are investigating.
