Lethbridge Regional Police charge woman in connection with stabbing

Lethbridge Regional Police have charged a 21-year-old woman with aggravated assault and weapons offences in connection with a stabbing.On January 1, 2014 at approximately 3:51 p.m. police responded to a report that a male had been stabbed during an altercation with a female in the area of the 800 block of 2 A Avenue North. Upon arrival an injured male was located and transported by EMS to hospital. He was treated for multiple, but non-life-threatening stab wounds, and has since been released.

The female subject was located a short distance away and police also recovered a knife. She was arrested without incident.

The male and female are known to one another. This was not a random crime.

Angela Spear Chief, 21, is charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm and possession of a dangerous weapon. She is remanded in custody to appear in court Jan. 3.
