Lethbridge woman charged with assaulting senior citizen

Lethbridge Police have charged a 38-year-old woman in connection with a random incident Wednesday afternoon where a senior citizen was assaulted.

On October 24, 2018 at approximately 12:51 p.m. police and EMS responded to a report of an assault after a woman attacked a 70-year-old man who had been walking in the 300 block of 7 Street South. The 38-year-old female ran up to the male and accused him of having her money. She then proceeded to swing her purse and strike him in the face. The force of the impact caused a laceration to the victim’s upper lip that required multiple stitches to close. The woman left the area and entered a nearby bank where she threatened staff and was subsequently arrested by members of the Downtown Policing Unit. The accused and victim are unknown to one another, and police believe the woman was impaired by methamphetamine at the time of the incident.

Stacy Leah Dawn White Man, 38, of Lethbridge, is charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm and two counts of breach of a recognizance. She is currently remanded in custody awaiting a Judicial Interim Release hearing.
