Male charged with break and enter to police bike compound

Lethbridge Police have charged a 32-year-old man for breaking into the bike compound – at the police station.

On July 3, 2019 at approximately 11:20 p.m. the front desk Commissionaire observed a male breaking into the LPS bike compound which is located on the west side of the police station, just steps away from the building. Within seconds – likely a record response time – officers exited the building and confronted the male who had scaled the fence, climbed over the razor wire and was inside the compound selecting a bicycle to steal. He was subsequently arrested without incident and charged.

Kyle Joseph English, 32, of Standoff, is charged with one count of break and enter. He is currently in custody awaiting a Judicial Interim Release hearing.
