Lethbridge Police have charged a 37-year-old man with weapons offences.
On September 17, 2019 at approximately 6:40 a.m. police responded to a report of several males outside the Supervised Consumption Site passing around a machete. Police located one of the males matching the description a short distance away. He was found to be in possession of the machete, which was stuffed inside his pants, along with second knife. The subject, who is bound by conditions not to possess any weapons, was subsequently arrested. Police also seized a small quantity of methamphetamine.
Shane Garrett Williams, 37, of Standoff, is charged with two counts of possession of a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of methamphetamine and breach of probation.
Williams is currently in custody awaiting a Judicial Interim Release hearing.
