Man charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon

Lethbridge Regional Police have charged a 36-year-old man following a serious assault.

On September 3, 2015, at 1835 hours, police responded to a physical altercation that started in the area of 5 Street and 4 Avenue South. Two males, who are known to each other, got into a verbal and then a physical altercation when one of the males pulled out a knife and slashed the victims face. The victim ran away but was chased by the accused until they had another altercation and the victim was stabbed.

The victim (38 yrs old) was taken to Chinook Regional Hospital and underwent surgery for a collapsed lung and is listed in stable condition.

Dominic Jarvis Spearchief (36 yrs old) has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public and 2 counts of breach of probation.

Spearchief was held to appear in Court on September 4, 2015.
