No charges following Saturday incident in southside neighbourhood

Lethbridge Regional Police released a 43-year-old man without charges following an incident Saturday morning that resulted in road closures and the evacuation of several homes in a south side neighbourhood.

 On Oct. 11, 2014 at approximately 7:30 a.m. police responded to a report of a distraught male, believed to be in possession of a firearm, at a home along the 1300 block of 17 Street South.

 Police, including the Tactical Team, attended and closed roads in the area and evacuated several nearby homes as a precaution. At approximately 12:30 p.m. a 43-year-old male was taken into custody without incident.

 Following further investigation the man was released without charges later in the day.

 As no criminal charges were laid, no further information will be released.
