One adult, three young offenders charged with robbery

Lethbridge Police have charged a 20-year-old man and three young offenders in connection with a robbery at a southside electronics store that resulted in two employees being assaulted.

On June 7, 2018 at approximately 2:30 p.m. four males entered Bell World along the 3700 block of Mayor Magrath Drive South. Two employees – a male and female – were placed in headlocks, dragged to back and forced to open a safe. The subjects stole dozens of high end cell phones then fled in a vehicle. The suspect vehicle was subsequently located on Highway 519 east of Granum by RCMP. The vehicle failed to stop for police and a spike belt was deployed. The subjects were arrested without further incident and a search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of 73 new in the box cell phones valued at $25,000. The two employees sustained non-life threatening injuries and were treated by EMS at the scene. 

LRuach Bang, 20, of Calgary, is charged with robbery, flight from police and two counts of breach of a recognizance stemming from similar robberies in Calgary. 

A 16-year-old male, of Calgary, who cannot be named, is charged with robbery, disguised with intent and two counts of breach of a recognizance stemming from similar robberies in Calgary. 

A 16-year-old male, of Calgary, who cannot be named, is charged with robbery.

A 17-year-old male, of Calgary, who cannot be named, is charged with robbery.

The accused remain in custody and are awaiting a Judicial Interim Release hearing.
