Lethbridge Regional Police are attempting to locate the owner of a vehicle that was struck by a police car en route to an emergency call late Thursday afternoon.
On September 24, 2015 at approximately 5:20 p.m. a marked police car with its emergency lights activated was en route to a Priority 1, emergency call. The police car was westbound along Mic Mac Boulevard when it attempted to navigate around a line of vehicles that had been stopped at the intersection with Mic Mac Place and struck the rear driver’s side quarter panel of a small SUV causing minor damage. Due to the nature of the emergency the officer was responding to, he continued to the call. Additional officers were immediately dispatched to the area to follow up with the driver of the damaged vehicle, but it was gone on police arrival and efforts to locate the owner have been unsuccessful.
Police are asking the driver to contact the Traffic Response Unit at 403-327-2210 or attend the Collision Reporting Centre, 406 – 4 Avenue North so the reporting process can begin and the damage can be taken care of.
