Police charge Lethbridge man in connection with recent robbery and break-in

 Lethbridge Regional Police have charged a 36-year-old man in connection with a robbery at the Quality Inn and Suites and break-in at the Coaldale Esso last month.

 On April 23, 2104 at approximately 3:14 a.m. police responded to an alarm at the Stop and Go Esso along the 1200 block of 20 Avenue in Coaldale. Upon arrival police found the door had been forced open and several bags of potato chips stolen. Security footage was reviewed and an armed male suspect was observed.

 On April 23, 2014 at approximately 3:53 a.m. police responded to a 911 call from an employee at the Quality Inn and Suites along the 4000 block of 2 Avenue South. The employee reported that an unknown male carrying what appeared to be a canister of pepper spray and a hatchet entered the hotel and demanded cash. An undisclosed amount was provided and the male subsequently left the area. No one was injured.

 Following further investigation by members of the Priority Crimes Unit a male suspect was identified and on May 6, 2014 he was located and arrested without incident.

 Kyle Lee Koch, 36, of Lethbridge, is charged with robbery, disguised, possession of an offensive weapon dangerous to the public and possession of a weapon contrary to an order and shop breaking and commit theft. He is scheduled to appear in court May 9.
