Police charge male in connection with stolen trucks

 Lethbridge Regional Police have charged 48-year-old man with multiple counts of possession of stolen property in connection with the theft of Ford trucks in June and July.

 In late June and July police responded to a number of thefts involving Ford F350 trucks. Following an investigation by members of the Priority Crimes Unit a male suspect was subsequently identified. On July 21, 2014 police located and arrested the male without incident.

 Richard John Dewar, 48, of Lethbridge, is charged with three counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000 (trucks), two counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000 (license plates) and one count of driving while disqualified.

 Dewar is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 8.

 Investigation in the matter is ongoing. No further information will be released at this time.
