Police charge male for discharging firearm

Lethbridge Police have charged a 22-year-old man in connection with an incident where a pellet gun was discharged at the Supervised Consumption Site.

On January 6, 2019 at approximately 6:18 p.m. police responded to a report that a male had produced a handgun and fired it outside the west doors of the Supervised Consumption Site along the 1000 block of 1 Avenue South. Witnesses provided a description of the suspect and upon police arrival he was located  attempting to hide amongst a group of people. No one was injured and the male was arrested  without further incident. During a search incidental to arrest police seized a loaded pellet gun that closely resembled a handgun along with a small quantity of methamphetamine.

Joshua Emmanual Hairy Bull, 22, of Lethbridge, is charged with: carrying a concealed weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless use of a firearm, pointing a firearm, possession of an offensive weapon dangerous to the public, possession of a controlled substance and breach of an undertaking.

Hairy Bull is currently in custody awaiting a Judicial Interim Release hearing.
