Police charge man in connection with seizure of stolen property

 Lethbridge Regional Police have charged a 54-year-old man in connection with the recovery of approximately $60,000 worth of stolen property.

 On July 10, 2014 members of the ALERT Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU), with assistance from the LRPS Priority Crimes Unit and Patrol Section, executed a search warrant at J and H Contracting along the 800 block of 30 Street North.

 As a result of the search warrant approximately $60,000 worth of stolen property was recovered from the shop. The property includes a stolen vehicle, tires, tools, equipment such as pressure washers, air compressors, welders, a firearm, ammunition and electronics.

 Joseph Alain Hudon, 54, of Lethbridge is charged with two counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000, breach of a recognizance, possession of a firearm without a license and careless storage of a firearm.

 Hudon is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 8.

 Investigation in the matter is ongoing and additional charges are anticipated.
