Police, dispatchers and corrections officers cycling for a cause

Members of the Lethbridge Regional Police Service, Lethbridge Public Safety Communications Centre and Lethbridge Correctional Centre, in partnership with the Law Enforcement Torch Run, are getting in gear to help raise money for Special Olympics.

On Saturday, April 5, 2013 bicycles will be set up in the Park Place Mall near the SportChek entrance and teams will be riding constantly from 10 a.m. when the mall opens until 6 p.m. when it closes. There will also be bikes set up for local Special Olympians who will take turns riding alongside the officers.

The Police Service thanks all of this year’s sponsors – the University of Lethbridge, Culligan Water, SportChek and Duane Goldie.

Donations can be made at the event or by calling 403-330-5020 or emailing blaine.stodolka@lrps.ca. All money raised will benefit local Special Olympics athletes.

During last year’s event $7,300 was raised and the goal this year is to match or exceed that amount.
