Police investigate single vehicle rollover collision on Whoop Up Drive

On December 27, at 0321 hrs, a member of LRPS was travelling EB on Whoop Up Drive when he observed a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser that had just been involved in a single vehicle rollover collision in the WB lanes of Whoop Up Drive.  The lone occupant, an 18 year old Lethbridge female, was found inside the vehicle unconscious and non-responsive.  EMS and LFD attended, extricated the female, and transported her to CRH for further medical treatment.  The female was admitted to hospital for observation with what are believed to be minor injuries at this time.

Initial investigation by the LRPS Traffic Response Unit indicate the vehicle was travelling WB from Scenic Dr onto Whoop Up Dr when it went off road and travelled thru the grass median, across the westbound lanes of Whoop Up Drive, striking the cement median and flipping on to its side before coming to a rest.

Alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in the cause of the MVC and the matter is still under investigation by the Traffic Response Unit.
