Lethbridge Regional Police are investigating an aggravated assault after a 32-year-old male was attacked in his home and sustained a serious head injury.
On Dec. 23, 2014 at approximately 1:17 a.m. police responded to an apartment complex along the 300 block of Highlands Boulevard following a report of an injured male. Investigation determined that a female and masked male entered the man’s home, pepper sprayed him and struck him in the head with a weapon, before fleeing the scene.
The victim was transported to Chinook Regional Hospital and subsequently transferred by ground ambulance to Calgary for treatment of a skull fracture. He remains in hospital in serious, but stable condition.
The female subject is described as Aboriginal, approximately five-feet-seven and was wearing a grey hoody with the hood up. The male is described as having darker skin, a bald or shaved head and was wearing a black leather jacket and a balaclava.
The subjects are unknown to the victim and the motive for the assault is unclear at this time. Investigation in the matter is ongoing.
