Police investigating armed robbery

Lethbridge Police are investigating an armed robbery at a northside bar.

On Nov. 11, 2019 just after 12:30 a.m. an unknown male armed with a knife entered the Flamingo bar along the 1700 block of 23 Street North and demanded cash. A male staff member initially refused and the subject proceeded to chase him around the bar with the knife until he agreed to open the till. An undisclosed amount of money was subsequently stolen and the subject fled on foot. No one was injured.

The subject is described as an Aboriginal male, about 5’10” tall, late 20s to early 30s, with an average build, blemished or dry skin and a raspy voice. He was wearing a thick black winter jacket with the hood up, black sunglasses and a black handkerchief with white accents covering his mouth.

Anyone who may have been in the area at the time and observed suspicious activity or has information about the robbery, is asked to call police at 403-328-4444 or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477. Anonymous tips can also be submitted online at www.p3tips.com. Crime Stoppers will pay cash for information leading to an arrest.
