Police investigating case of animal cruelty

Lethbridge Regional Police are investigating a case of animal cruelty after a cat was shot in the eye On July 9, 2014 police were contacted by the owner of a cat who advised the animal had previously returned to its home along the 1600 block of 5 A Avenue North with an eye injury. The cat was taken to the vet and it was determined that it would require surgery. The attending veterinarian subsequently located a pellet and had to remove the cat’s eye.

 The incident occurred sometime overnight July 6 and July 7 but as the cat is an outdoor cat the location is not known.
