Police investigating drug-related shooting

Lethbridge Regional Police are investigating a shooting after an injured 29-year-old male attended a north side home seeking help early this morning.

On Sept. 4, 2015 at approximately 5:30 a.m. police and EMS responded to a home along the 500 block of Stafford Drive North after the homeowner reported an unknown male had been shot and was bleeding. Upon arrival police located the injured man sitting on the porch. The victim was transported to hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released.

The victim reported that he was looking to purchase drugs when he was shot by three unknown males. He could not provide specific details on where the shooting occurred. As the matter appears to be associated to the drug trade, there is no evidence to suggest the general public is at risk.

Investigation is ongoing and there is no further information available to release at this time.
