Police investigating passing of counterfeit US $50 bills; seeking assistance to identify subjects

Lethbridge Police are seeking the public’s assistance to identify a male and female suspect in connection with numerous incidents where counterfeit US $50 bills were passed or attempted to be passed at local businesses.

Since Aug. 3 there have been nine incidents reported where the subjects have attended various retail locations and provided fake US $50 bills as payment. Surveillance footage has been obtained and police are seeking assistance to identify the male and female pictured.

Anyone who recognizes these suspects or has information about the incidents is asked to contact Sgt. Travis Evenson at 403-330-5124 or Cst. Dan Shurtz at 403-330-5212.

Members of the public may also call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or submit anonymous tips online at www.tipsubmit.com. Crime Stoppers will pay cash for information leading to an arrest.
