Police investigating sexual assault

Lethbridge Police are investigating the sexual assault of a woman in a north side alley.

On July 18, 2019 at approximately 10 p.m. a 51-year-old woman reported she was sexually assaulted by two unknown males she encountered in a north side alley. The victim told police she was walking through the alley along the 1900 block of 6 Avenue North when she came across the two males. The males asked the woman for money and when she informed them that she didn’t have any they proceeded to sexually assault her. The males fled the area on bikes and the victim ran to a nearby home where police were called. She was transported to hospital a short time later and a search of the area was conducted but the males were not located.

The first suspect is described as an Aboriginal male, approximately six feet tall wearing jeans. The second suspect is described as an Aboriginal male, with short hair and a pock marked face. He was wearing a dark sweatshirt and jeans.

Police are asking anyone in the surrounding area to come forward if they have security cameras or if they saw or heard anything suspicious between 8 p.m. and midnight.
