Police investigating suspicious fire

Lethbridge Regional Police and the Lethbridge Fire Department are investigating a suspicious fire that destroyed two vehicles and damaged a north side business.

On July 20, 2015 at approximately 4:45 a.m. police and firefighters responded to a fire behind a business along the 1200 block of 2 A Avenue North. Upon arrival a mini-van was found to be engulfed in flames and the fire spread to a cutaway van parked beside it. The Fire Department subsequently extinguished the fire. No one was injured.

In addition to the vehicles, approximately $30,000 worth of woodworking tools inside the cutaway van were damaged and the Woodloft building was also damaged. Total damages are estimated at more than $50,000.

Investigation is ongoing.
