Lethbridge Regional Police have charged two males in connection with unrelated assaults that resulted in victims being taken to hospital and treated for stab wounds.
On April 28, 2015 at approximately 8:45 a.m. police responded to a report of a 24-year-old male at the hospital suffering from non-life-threatening stab injuries. Investigation determined the night before the victim had been socializing with a group of acquaintances at a residence along the 1000 block of 12 B St S when another male became jealous of his relationship with a female. The victim fell asleep and was awoken at approximately 8 a.m. when a male began stabbing him. The commotion woke up other occupants and the subject fled. The subject appears to have gained entry to the home by breaking the glass in the front door.
Following further investigation the subject was identified. He was located on April 29 and subsequently arrested.
A 17-year-old male, who cannot be identified, is charged with assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon, housebreaking and commit assault, possession of a dangerous weapon and being disguised in the commission of an offence. Following a Judicial Interim Release hearing the accused was released from custody and scheduled to appear in court May 6.
On April 29, 2015 at approximately 12:05 a.m. police responded to a report of an assault outside a residence along the 500 block of 7 Street South. Investigation determined a 35-year-old man and 29-year-old man were engaged in a physical altercation that resulted in the 35-year-old man sustaining multiple stab wounds. The victim was subsequently transported to hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Police located the 29-year-old suspect a short time later and also recovered the knife that is believed to have been used in the assault.
Timothy Corey Scout, 29, of Lethbridge, is charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon. He is scheduled to appear in court this morning.
