Police recover stolen property being advertised for sale online

Lethbridge Police have charged a 26-year-old man following an investigation that resulted in the recovery of stolen property the accused was attempting to sell online.

On May 22, 2019 police were notified that a radar detector and binoculars that had previously been reported stolen, were now listed for sale on Kijiji. The seller was identified by police and upon attending his residence, officers located a stolen vehicle with a stolen license plate near the home and observed a radar detector matching the description of the one reported stolen inside. During the investigation a further report was received that a stolen laptop was at the location where police were currently on scene. The male occupant of the home exited after a short period of time and was arrested without incident. Police subsequently obtained a search warrant and upon searching the home located a variety of stolen property including the laptop, binoculars, clothing, as well as a second lap top and multiple car keys. The radar detector was recovered from the stolen vehicle and a phone seized from the male incidental to arrest was also confirmed to be stolen.

Keaton James Rowe, 26, of Lethbridge, is charged with six counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000 and two counts of possession of stolen property for the purpose of trafficking. He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court June 14.
