Police seeking assistance to locate driver, occupants of vehicle recorded in the area of hit and run collision

 Lethbridge Regional Police are asking the driver and any occupants of a red car that was recorded on video surveillance near the scene of an injury hit and run collision Jan. 26 to come forward.

 The occupants of the vehicle are believed to be witnesses and police would like to talk to them as part of the ongoing investigation.

 On Jan. 26, 2014 at approximately 2:49 a.m. a passerby contacted police after observing an injured male lying in the northbound lanes of the Stafford Drive overpass. Upon arrival police located a 45-year-old male cyclist who was the victim of a hit and run collision. The male was initially transported to Chinook Regional Hospital with life-threatening injuries and later airlifted to Calgary Foothills Hospital. He remains in Foothills Hospital in critical condition. On Jan. 28, 2014 a 30-year-old male attended the police station and was subsequently charged with failing to stop or remain at the scene of a collision causing bodily harm. Police also seized his vehicle.
