LPS recruiting more volunteers for The Watch

If you are a minimum of 18 years of age, want make a difference in the community and test drive a career in policing or social services, becoming a Watch volunteer might be for you!

The Watch is currently accepting applications for up to 20 volunteer positions.

“Since its inception in early May, The Watch has been welcomed with open arms downtown and we are excited to expand the program,” said Jeff Hansen, Watch Manager.

Suspicious person case concluded without charges

Lethbridge Police have concluded a suspicious person case without charges.

On June 18, 2019 police issued a media release seeking public assistance to identify a male in a vehicle who approached a 14-year-old girl near Stan Siwik Pool and invited her to lunch. Following the release, police received information and the subject was identified. The 32-year-old male was cooperative, attended the police station and admitted to having contact with the girl, but believed she was over 18.

TD Bank employees thwart fraud attempt

Lethbridge Police have charged a Calgary man with attempted fraud after he provided fake documents and tried to transfer $145,000 from someone else’s account.
