Police seeking assistance to return found property to owners

Lethbridge Police have recovered an expensive engagement ring and pair of binoculars and are hoping to return them to their rightful owners.

On March 11, 2017 a citizen found a diamond ring at Park Place mall and turned it in to Guest Services. The owner was never identified and on July 19, 2017 the ring was provided to police and a report filed. (Mall policy is to retain found property for three months). The gold and diamond engagement ring is valued at $3,000-$4,000.

On July 22, 2017 a family was out for a bike ride along a path in Riverstone when one of the children located a pair of Swarovski Range Finder binoculars in the bushes. The binoculars were turned into police and found to be worth nearly $4,100. Attempts to trace the owner through the serial number and where the binoculars were purchased have been unsuccessful.

A photo of the ring and binoculars are included for release.

To claim either item, proof of ownership will be required. Anyone who recognizes the ring or binoculars is asked to call the Property and Exhibits Unit at 403-330-5017.
