Police seeking assistance to locate male

Lethbridge Police are seeking the public’s assistance to locate a 32-year-old male.

Brandon Douglas Rourke was last heard from by family members on Aug. 5, 2019. Attempts by police to locate him since then have been unsuccessful.

A photo of Rourke is included for release.

Anyone who has seen Rourke or has any information on his whereabouts is asked to contact police at 403-328-4444.

Lethbridge woman charged with defrauding employer

Lethbridge Police have charged a 40-year-old woman in connection with an internal theft from the County of Lethbridge.

In May 2019 the County of Lethbridge became aware of a theft and fraud by one of their employees and called police. An investigation by members of the Economic Crimes Unit was initiated and determined that a total of approximately $49,000 – some of the money from tax payments –  had been stolen from the County office between 2016 and 2019. A female employee was subsequently charged.

Police investigating armed robbery

Lethbridge Police are investigating an armed robbery at a northside lounge.

On July 28, 2019 at approximately 11:50 p.m. a masked male entered the Flamingo along the 1700 block of 23 Street North. The male approached the bar, brandished a knife and demanded cash. An undisclosed amount was provided and the male fled on foot northbound along 23 St N. Attempts to locate the suspect were unsuccessful.
