Police seeking witnesses, information about an assault

Lethbridge Police are investigating an assault and are asking anyone with information to come forward.

On May 29, 2016 at approximately 5 a.m. police and EMS responded to a report of an injured male – the apparent victim of an assault – along Cayuga Crescent. The victim was transported to hospital and treated for serious head and internal injuries as well as multiple facial fractures.

Investigation determined the victim had left Backstreet Pub at closing time and walked to Cayuga Crescent where he was approached by an unknown male and attacked. The man was not robbed and at this time the incident appears to be random in nature.

The subject is described as an aboriginal male, in his late 20s or early 30s, about 5’8” with a large, but slim build.

Police are asking neighbours or anyone who may have been in the area and witnessed the assault or has information about this crime, to contact police at 403-328-4444 or Crime Stoppers if they wish to remain anonymous at 1-800-222-8477 or www.tipsubmit.com
