Police seize stun gun and $15,000 worth of marihuana following traffic stop

Lethbridge Police have seized a stun gun and a large quantity of marihuana following a routine traffic stop last night.

On September 18, 2018 just before 9 p.m.  police observed a vehicle with an expired licence plate and  conducted a traffic stop along Red Crow Boulevard. As the officer approached the driver’s window there was a very strong odor of fresh marihuana coming from the vehicle. The driver was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance and a subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of stun gun that doubles as a flashlight, approximately 3.3 kilograms of marihuana with a street value of approximately $15,000, cell phones, drug paraphernalia including syringes and an electronic scale, and nearly $500 cash.

Allan Wayne Gregson, 45, of Raymond, is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking (marihuana exceeding three kilograms) and knowingly possessing a prohibited/restricted weapon. Gregson was remanded to appear in court today.
