Members of the Lethbridge Police Service, Alberta Sheriffs, Lethbridge Correctional Centre, Taber Police Service, and Blood Tribe Police Service CP Rail Police – with support from local Special Olympics athletes – will hit the road Friday, June 16, 2017 for the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) 500-km Bike Ride for Special Olympics.
The charity cycling trek starts at 10 a.m. at the Lethbridge Courthouse, 320 4 Street South, and over a 24-hour period the team of 12 cyclists will bike their way to the Free Our Finest LETR event at the Calgary Cabela’s store. The riders will then carry on and ride to their final destination – the Edmonton Free Our Finest LETR event at their southwest Cabela’s location which they are expected to reach by noon on June 17.
All money raised from the annual ride will benefit Special Olympics.
During the ride police advise motorists along Highways 3, 23 and 21 to be aware of the cyclists and please slow down and use extreme caution when passing the team.
