Lethbridge Regional Police have concluded an investigation into a report of an explosive device in a west side neighbourhood as unfounded and residents have returned to their homes.
Earlier today a resident along the 100 block of Laval Boulevrd received a phone call indicating there had been an explosive device placed within the vicinity of their home. Police attended, utilizing the services of the Patrol Section, Criminal Investigation Division and the Explosive Disposal Unit, and checked the neighbourhood. Nothing suspicious was located and police now believe the call was a hoax. It is possible the call originated from an online prank phone call website.
This matter is now concluded and police have departed the scene.
