Taber woman charged in connection with convenience store robbery

Lethbridge Police have charged a 37-year-old woman in connection with a robbery earlier this month at a south side gas station.

On June 1, 2016 at approximately 6:21 a.m. police responded to a report of a robbery at the London Road Esso along the 700 block of 6 Avenue South. The clerk reported an unknown female entered the store and engaged her in conversation. The subject left the store but returned a short time later, selected merchandise and when the till was opened to complete the transaction she went behind the counter, struggled with the clerk and removed an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect fled on foot.

The female was later identified and on June 17, 2016 she was arrested without incident in Taber.

Dawn Ila Hart, 37, of Taber is charged with one count of robbery. Hart was released on a recognizance following a Judicial Interim Release hearing and is scheduled to appear in court June 22 to answer to the charge.
