Lethbridge Police and the Law Enforcement Torch Run are extremely grateful for the community’s generous support during the 5th annual Polar Plunge that took place at Nicholas Sheran Lake over the weekend.
The goal of the event, which raises money and awareness for Special Olympics, was set at $10,000 but thanks to the community’s enthusiasm and fantastic fundraising efforts, nearly $18,000 was raised!
There were a total of 76 plungers who registered for the icy dip and Kenneth Gentek was the top individual fundraiser at $2,275 and Peak Offshore was the top team at $2,151.
Special thanks for all the sponsors – Global Lethbridge, Western One, Arctic Spas, McDonalds, Hawaiian Treats, Copy Express and Westech Sanitation Systems. Also thanks to the Lethbridge Fire Department for preparing the jump site and keeping everyone safe.
Hope to see you all again next year.
