Two men charged in connection with shooting; investigation ongoing to locate additional subject

Lethbridge Police have charged two men in connection with a drug-related shooting earlier this week and the investigation is ongoing to locate an additional subject.

On March 15, 2016 at approximately 2:30 a.m. police responded to several reports of shots fired in the alley behind Gonzo’s Gas along the 900 block of 9 Avenue North. Investigation determined that a 26-year-old female and 30-year-old male were in the alley when they were shot at by subjects in a vehicle. The victims were not injured and the subjects fled the scene.

The shooting was a targeted incident related to the drug trade and the parties involved are known to one another.

Following further investigation a search warrant was executed March 15 at 8 p.m. at a home along Mount Sundance Crescent and two men were arrested without incident. In addition police seized 170 grams of Fentanyl, nearly 20 grams of cocaine, 26.5 grams of crack cocaine and nearly $5,000 in cash. Two vehicles were also seized.

On March 16, with assistance from RCMP, police executed a second search warrant at a home in Raymond and arrested a third male. In addition, multiple cell phones and weapons, including knives, a collapsible baton, a machete and an airsoft pistol were seized.

The investigation is ongoing and police are working to locate an additional suspect.

Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose Of Trafficking x3

Cole was remanded in custody to appear in court March 18.

Samson Mandefro, 20, of Lethbridge is charged with:
Possession of Stolen Property Under $5,000 (Proceeds of Crime)
Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x3

Mandefro was remanded in custody to appear in court today.

Lawrence Allan Kreutz, 22, of Raymond, is charged with:
Assault with a Weapon x2
Discharged Air Gas Gun/Pistol with Intent To Endanger Life X2
Pointing a Firearm x2
Possession of an Offensive Weapon
Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm/Vehicle
Possession of a Loaded Prohibited/Restricted Firearm
Intentional & Reckless Discharge of a Firearm x2
Discharge Gun with Intent to Injure x2

Kreutz was released from custody on a recognizance with numerous conditions. He is scheduled to appear in court March 24.
