Lethbridge Regional Police have charged two men with numerous weapons offences after a search warrant was executed Wednesday at a northside home and officers recovered ammunition and firearms that had previously been reported stolen.
On Feb. 18, 2014 police responded to a report that firearms had been stolen from a city residence. Following further investigation a suspect was identified and on Feb. 19 police obtained and executed a search warrant at a home along the 1300 block of 5 Avenue North.
Two males and a female were taken into custody without incident. During a search incidental to arrest police recovered a small quantity of crack cocaine and marihuana from the female.
Chance Bodan Nordean, 28, of Lethbridge is charged with five counts each of possession of a firearm contrary to an order, careless storage of a firearm and four counts each of possession of a firearm obtained by the commission of an offence and unauthorized possession of a firearm. He is remanded in custody to appear in court today.
Brett Carmen Iwaasa, 21, of Lethbridge, is charged with four counts each of possession of a weapon obtained by the commission of an offence, unauthorized possession of a firearm, five counts of offer to transfer a firearm/ammunition or device and one count of theft of a motor vehicle. He is remanded in custody to appear in court today.
Diane Carol Nordean, 51, of Lethbridge is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance. She is remanded to appear in court today.
Investigation in the matter is ongoing.
