Two men in custody; drugs seized from west side home

Lethbridge Police arrested two men without incident following the execution of a high-risk search warrant at a Sunridge home Tuesday night.

One of the men was wanted in connection with the shooting that occurred during the early morning hours March 14 behind a northside gas station. The other man is not believed to have been involved in the shooting.

In addition, police seized a quantity of Fentanyl, cocaine, crack cocaine and cash and towed two vehicles.

Charges against both men are pending.

On March 15, 2016 at approximately 2:30 a.m. police responded to several reports of shots fired in the alley behind Gonzo’s Gas along the 900 block of 9 Avenue North. Investigation determined that a 26-year-old female and 30-year-old male were in the alley when they were shot at by subjects in a vehicle. The victims were not injured and the subjects fled the scene.

The shooting was a targeted incident related to the drug trade and the parties involved are known to one another.

Following further investigation at approximately 8 p.m. members of the Tactical Team subsequently executed a search warrant at a home along Mount Sundance Crescent and arrested two males without incident. In addition, quantities of drugs were seized and two vehicles were towed.

Investigation into the shooting is ongoing and police are not releasing further information.
